Heavy police presence today for the funeral of gangland member Alan Moridian who was executed in a Bondi Junction car park last week. Some mourners were even targeted by officers. Their

cars stopped and searched as they left the church near Fairfield. A funeral for a bikey gangster with extravagant tastes. Alan Moridian's coffin almost lost in flowers. There were flashy cars, designer clothes, security guards and a widow in mourning

at the Assyrian Church in Greenfield Park. It was a magnet for police and despite the occasion Moridian's associates were in the sights of the heavy duty Raptor Squad. Cars pulled over and searched. Even two vehicles from the courtage were targeted. Eight days

ago 48 year old Moridian was murdered in an ambush in the car park of his Bondi Junction apartment block. There were two gunmen, two getaway cars, one torched, a classic underworld

hit. The heavy police presence here suggests a war may be brewing if it hasn't started already. Moridian had many enemies but he also had plenty of supporters as well who will be demanding revenge. In and out of jail over the past two decades for drug dealing

Moridian was described by police as a major player with a target on his back. This is thought to be one of the last photos of the former bikey, gold teeth, gold watch and tattoos. A Mr Big in the underworld no longer as police step up the pressure to prevent any more killings. Damien Ryan, 9 News.
