Energy bill relief is on its way for more than 1.5 million Australian households, however the rebate isn’t automatic for everyone

Energy bill relief is on its way for more than one and one and a half million households. But the rebate isn't automatic for everyone. The state government today urging those who qualify to make sure they've signed up, as Alex Hunky explains.

Pensioners and those who hold a health care card or DVA gold card will automatically receive $125 quarterly electricity rebate if they've registered with their energy provider. Last

year only 64% of those eligible had signed up. The government is urging you to check if you qualify and tell your energy provider if you haven't. Small businesses who qualify will get a one -off $650 payment. If you have a seniors health

card or receive a family tax benefit A or B, you need to apply on the Service NSW website from August 1. And if you're struggling to pay due to financial hardship or natural disaster, you can apply for an increased $500 payment for gas and electricity every six months.

Thank you, Alex.
